This was my final day on the cruise and last few hours with the #AlwaysFamous gang. I knew I had to get up early for Zumba and to finally see the lovely view on the upper deck in the early hours of the morning. It […]

First time ever to step foot on Taiwan land! I’ve heard many things about Taipei but Kaohsiung was unfamiliar to me. Our tour guide mentioned something about Kaohsiung being the Miami of Taiwan, my warm body covered in a ‘pacute’ layered outfit agreed. As soon […]

Hello, Ilocos Norte!
I missed the Zumba class at the upper deck as I was still feeling quite sick in the morning, I had enough time to grab a snack and coffee by the reception area and enjoyed the view outside for a bit before rushing to the Genting Palace once again to meet everyone.
We had docked near the Laoag port and rode a sea shuttle to land, here we were welcomed with a grand performance from the locals and were able to get a few fun group shots in before starting our on land excursion.
Lunch was next on the itinerary so we drove to a popular restaurant called the Hidden Garden, here we enjoyed some pancit, lechon and of course, empanada!

From the restaurant we traveled another hour and a half to get to beautiful Calle Crisologo in Vigan!
Here we were given about a little over an hour to explore and enjoy photo taking with the lovely exterior that I’ve always admired this place for. I was here a few years ago and longed to return just to have a chance to really take it all in. Unfortunately though, it was another brief visit so I just made sure to make the most out of it via pictures! Just like last time. I remembered how I had to make longganisa from scratch during the drive thru challenge but couldn’t recall where it was there exactly. Every corner in this area is undeniably picturesque, I am amazed at their preservation of culture and the beauty it brings. If there was one thing I wish I could change though is perhaps the state of the horses being used for the kalesas, I wish they were free, or in better health at least. The poor things were marching around under the heat of the sun and didn’t seem to be in the best shape. I don’t know, that’s for a different entry, I guess. Here are some of our snaps at Vigan!
Happy Birthday, Leah!

Back at the port, we spotted on of the stands by the market area selling AA Patawaran’s book! We hurriedly called him to tell him about it and he decided to sign the book for the store owner. She said the book was no longer for sale! What a sweet coincidence, right? We had time to shop a bit, eat some more empanada and finally went back on the ship.
The orange empanada everyone had been waiting for!
That evening ended with a Grease-themed dinner and party —everyone channeled their own versions of Danny Zuko and Sandy Olson! It was also Markki’s birthday salubong so we took over the Celebrity Lounge and partied like we weren’t getting up at 6AM the next day for Zumba and would be touring Taiwan(but we did, well mostly the touring part!). It was one heck of a party that brought the group a little closer. We also ended up in Blue Lagoon late that night for some comfort food before retiring to our rooms. I had too much fun that night and almost forgot about the amazing thought that I’d be waking up in a different country the next day!
